Jodie Noel Vinson is a qualified and committed writer, editor, and teacher with experience in education, management, content creation, and sales.
As Program Manager at What Cheer Writers Club, a nonprofit co-working space for writers, podcasters, and indie publishers in Providence, Jodie provides outreach, programming, and support for the content arts community across Rhode Island.
Jodie has ten years of experience in the book and publishing industries, including work at independent bookstores in Seattle, Minneapolis, and Boston, where she cultivated a literary expertise that ranges from Marcel Proust to J. Maarten Troost. As Managing Editor of Longitude Books, Jodie reviewed and recommended travel books to travelers and tour companies such as National Geographic Expeditions and Smithsonian Journeys, becoming an authoritative voice on what to read in destinations around the world.
During her five years' experience in the travel industry, which included work as Marketing Content Writer at TCS World Travel, Jodie has written about trips and destinations around the world, from the ice shelves of Antarctica to the cosmopolitan capitals of Europe.
With a BA in English Education and an MFA in non-fiction creative writing, Jodie has experience teaching high school and adult literature and creative writing. She has taught writing at Seattle's Hugo House, the Loft Literary Center in Minneapolis, at GrubStreet in Boston, and at the Boston Public Library's Writing Workshops.
